So we tried the shooting competition!

Saturday 16th..
Today's training, well we tried the international shooting competition. After a little time setting up the circles and laying out the shiny boule and the dark boule, we proceeded in running the competition as per the rules.
Mike came up trumps and won the match. But it showed that the rest of us need lots more help in getting the boule into the air and landing in the circle at 6, 7, 8, and 9 mts. Then we can try to hit the appropriate boule or cosh
This was good experiance and all goes to help us in our training.
After practice we carried on the morning session in brilliant sunshire although a litttle cold. The members who took part in the training complained that they where now throwing the boule to far...eventually we hope to combined shooting, high lobs and pointing and use them all in the same game

First Training Day

Today was our first training day of the year, we had 20 players turn out for our training session.
Three pointing exercises and three shooting exercises were set up. Some of which players found difficult but gave lots of learning opportunities.
The morning was glorious quite cold but lovely sunshine and no wind.The morning continued with 3 mêlées and the weather held. A good days boule for all.
It looks like that we will now be able to put two teams into the North Downs league and two teams in the Southern counties 6 a side. If we have left anyone off the list of teams please get in touch with me ASAP
